The UK Mathematics Challenge (UKMC) is a prestigious competition designed to test the mathematical talents of students across the United Kingdom. As the official national competition, the UKMC serves as a qualifying stage for the International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC), an esteemed global competition organized by The Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications.
The UK Maths Challenge invites students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and overseas, providing an exciting opportunity to represent their country on the global stage. Successful participants will have the chance to be part of the UK Maths Team, with the two top teams selected for the UK’s National Maths Team A and Team B, competing in the IMMC.
Students competing in the UKMC must form teams from the same school, with specific eligibility based on their location:
England, Wales, and Overseas: Year 13 and below
Scotland: S6 or below
Northern Ireland: Year 14 or below
The UKMC is conducted online, making it accessible to a wide range of students while ensuring a competitive environment. If you’re a student passionate about mathematics, the UK Mathematics Challenge offers an incredible platform to showcase your skills and advance towards becoming part of the UK Mathematics Team!
